The Madejski Stadium, also known as The Mad Stad, is a football stadium in Reading. It opened in 1998 and it is the home of Reading FC, the most popular sports club in Reading, and the London Irish rugby union club. Reading FC, nicknamed The Royals, were founded in 1871.
